Spring Fling: A True Love Table Runner Art Exhibit

A familiar holiday palette takes on fresh energy in this festive table runner, where movement begins at the center and continues outward in a series of crisp, expanding angles.

Using the Spring Fling pattern by GE Designs, Diane Quirk arranged fabrics from the Merrily on High collection by Sweetfire Road into a bold geometric composition. Poinsettias anchor the central diamond, while snowflakes, ornaments, greenery, gingerbread figures, candy canes, plaids, and dotted coordinates unfold through layered bands of red, pink, green, and winter white.

The pattern’s strong directional lines give every print a distinct place within the design while allowing the collection’s playful details to emerge gradually. Diane’s careful piecing maintains the sharp points and visual symmetry that make the runner so striking, while her quilting and coordinating plaid binding provide a polished finish.

Bright, cheerful, and filled with small discoveries, Spring Fling demonstrates how a traditional seasonal palette can feel lively and contemporary when color, scale, and pattern are arranged with intention.
