PINK STITCHED PROMISES™ Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative
| The Pink Stitched Promises™ Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative is an annual event organized by SewEndipitous®. This initiative features a variety of creative and inspiring projects and activities aimed at supporting individuals affected by breast cancer and honoring the memory of those who have succumbed to the disease. Through Pink Stitched Promises™, SewEndipitous® remains committed to its mission of honoring our mother Sue Baker-Elkins, a breast cancer survivor, while inspiring, educating, and raising awareness about breast cancer. |

The Pink Stitched Promises™ Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative by SewEndipitous® is a heartfelt evolution of the Sue Elkins Princess Promise Pumpkins™ movement, reimagined specifically for the quilting and sewing community. Building on the legacy of the original Promise Pumpkins™ initiative, which was started in 2012 for our Mom Sue Baker-Elkins, as a way to honor her, all breast cancer survivors, as well as those we've lost, by adding their names to pink pumpkins and placing them on display each October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink Stitched Promises™ invites crafters to create quilted and sewn pink pumpkins as a symbol of hope, resilience, and remembrance for those who this disease has impacted. Each creation, much like the real pink pumpkins displayed with their names, serves as a tribute to the individuals affected by breast cancer, transforming fabric into an object filled with personal stories and support. This initiative encourages participants to share their crafted pieces and the stories of the people who inspired them, fostering a global community of support and awareness. By incorporating the art of quilting and sewing, Pink Stitched Promises™ not only honors the cherished names of those affected but also provides a creative outlet for healing and expression. The initiative also emphasizes inclusivity by recognizing the impact of breast cancer on men, encouraging the creation of the blue Prince Promise Pumpkins™ to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions men face in their battles. Through Pink Stitched Promises™, SewEndipitous® continues the mission to honor our Mom, a breast cancer survivor, and to inspire, educate, and raise breast cancer awareness. The harsh realities of the world can rob us of the fairy tales we were told as children. Cinderella may be make-believe, but the fact of the matter is this - miracles and magic still exist, hope and faith are ours to claim, and even in the crazy real world, a simple pink pumpkin can become whatever we wish it to be. - Lisa & Steve Baker |
