Hues Clues™ Challenge Rules:

2025 Challenge is Underway!

CHALLENGE RULES:

Color Card Selection: Everyone will randomly pick a Hues Clues™ card. Just ask a Shop Associate in the Store! The color will remain a mystery until they turn it over. The card will represent their MAIN color in dark, medium, and light hues, along with one complementary color.
No Exchanges: Participants cannot switch cards with someone else to get a preferred color. Use this color challenge to stretch out of your comfort zone.
Size Requirements: The finished project should be 20" x 20".
Dominant Color: 60-75% of the quilt must feature the chosen color and its light & dark shades. Your complementary color clue must also be incorporated.
Supporting Colors: Participants can incorporate other colors, but those colors must be from the same selected color family or your complementary color hues, based on color theory principles.
Neutral Assistance: You may use neutral colors like Black, White, Grey, or Tan.
Artistic Liberty: We encourage participants to use their Hues Clues™ to spark inspiration and creativity. Participants are allowed to use many different quilting techniques, fiber media, and embellishments to translate their colors into a quilted piece of art, even telling a story.
Deadline & Submission: All Entries must be turned in to the SewEndipious® shop by June 21, 2025.
Please DO NOT put your name on your Finished Quilt Art. Your name can be on the bag or pillowcase that holds your project.
Please bring your Hues Clues™ Card to display with your finished project.
Showcase & Voting: All entries will be displayed starting July 12, 2025. Voting will begin that day and run through July 26, 2025.

JUDGED CATEGORIES:

The Colorful Nancy Drew Hues Clues™ Award – The entry that was Best Use of Color as described in the challenge guidelines.
The Hue-dini Award – The entry that was a magical transformation of color in a way no one saw coming.
The Hues Clues™ Artisan Award – For the most skillful and intentional use of color alongside creative techniques and embellishments.
Viewer's Choice Award – The voters simply think the entry is the most Amazing in their eyes.

CELEBRATE THE SEQUEL:

On July 26, 2025, we'll host the exciting follow-up event, Hues Clues®: The Sequel, featuring a lively discussion and celebration of the entries.

RIBBON AWARDS:

Winners will be announced during a Facebook Live Event?on July 29, 2025 — don't miss it!

BONUS CHALLENGE:

This is NOT mandatory, but it would be a wonderful way to share your artistic journey. Consider writing about how your chosen color inspired you, what emotions you associate with your Hues Clue™ colors, how you developed your project vision, any new techniques you explored, and the story you wanted your final quilted piece to tell.
