Liz’s Jumbo Bow: A Not Scary Art Exhibit

Playful, oversized, and full of personality, Liz’s Jumbo Bow transforms seasonal fabric into a cheerful statement piece that feels both festive and handmade in the best possible way.

Created by Liz Liggon using The Big Giant Quilted Jelly Roll Bow pattern by Lindsay Grace Creates, this exhibit features bold bow forms made from the Not Scary collection designed by Jill & Rani for Poppie Cotton. The fabric line’s pink, orange, black, and white palette brings a lighthearted Halloween spirit to the work, filled with whimsical ghosts, spiders, pumpkins, bats, candy, and webs that lean charming rather than frightful.

What makes these pieces especially delightful is the scale. By enlarging the familiar shape of a tied bow and rendering it in quilted patchwork, Liz turns a decorative accent into the star of the display. The result feels joyful and unexpected—part seasonal décor, part textile sculpture, and entirely memorable.

The contrast between the two bows adds even more visual interest. One version leans sweet and playful with bright pink tones, while the other embraces a bolder Halloween energy with orange and black.
