Request:  All attendees are respectfully asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions/oils due to allergy and olfactory sensitivities of some students and instructors.

Class Summary:
The class project is the Thimble and Threads Stitching Set and will require two class sessions. At the first session, Teresa and Martee will partner to explain and demonstrate the tools necessary for hand embroidery, including needles, types of thread, fabric marking and hoops. Eight basic embroidery stitches will be taught in the morning of  the first class and the afternoon will be spent working on the embroidery pieces for the class project. The second session will be the construction of the project. 

Required Fabric and Supplies: 
    Session 1: (Feb 27th)
    • Embroidery sharp pointed scissors 
    • One skein each of 5 or 6 different DMC embroidery floss that matches the Focus and Complimentary fabrics 
    • Fat Quarter of Focus fabric to be used on outside of the project 
    • Fat Quarter of complimentary lining fabric for inside of the project 
    • Three or Four 8” squares of fabrics that match the focus and lining fabrics 
    • Fabric Scissors 
      Session 2: (April 2nd)
      • Completed embroidery pieces 
      • Sewing Machine and thread to match fabrics 
      • Rotary Cutter / ruler / mat 
      • General sewing supplies.


      NO HOMEWORK PRIOR TO SESSION 1


      Recommended: You will be doing close up hand work and therefore should consider bringing a bright light and reading glasses


      Kit Fee Details: ($22.00) The Kit will include the following:

      1. Thimble and Threads Stitching Set pattern
      2. White fabric to be used in the embroidery of the front and inside pockets of the project. These will be pre-marked with the embroidery pattern and backed with Sheerweight Pellon P906F interfacing.
      3. Needles: A size 7 embroidery needle
      4. Clover blue water-soluble ink pen with Eraser Clover #5013
      5. 5” Embroidery Hoop
      6. Heavy weight Pellon Stabilizer – 70 W
      7. Beaded trim for the outside of the project.
      8.  Lace Trim for the inside of the project
      9. Scissor Charm embellishment (will be given out in class)
      10. White felt for the inside pin hexagon
      11. 8” of ½” elastic

      Important Considerations:  
      1. All attendees are respectfully asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions/oils due to allergy and olfactory sensitivities of some students and instructors.  
      2. Additionally, must be 18 years or older to register unless otherwise approved by instructor in advance.
      Classes and Events are Non-Refundable Unless:
      1.  You are able to find another person to take your spot.  
      2.  You cancel 30 days prior to the Class/Event.  
      3.  The instructor cancels.
      4.  No exceptions.
