Skill Level Required to Register: Beginner Stripology user/Confident Sewer (The beginner Stripology user or confident beginner has been sewing for a little while and understands how to adjust the machine to create a consistent scant ¼” seam. A Confident Beginner may also have used the Stripology ruler in limited ways and is ready for more experience.)

Class Summary:

Come and Master Your Stripology Rulers with us as you take the use of your Stripology rulers beyond the basics while mastering additional techniques including ¼” and ?” cuts and using ruler markings such as the 45º and 60º angles to cut shapes. You’ll also learn the GEasy method of making basic units such as Half Square Triangles, Quarter Square Triangles and Flying Geese. The Master Your Stripology Rulers book is a gold mine of information that we’ll be putting to use in class.

Please note that this class will begin a little earlier than usual. Plan to arrive by 9:00 am for a prompt start at 9:30 am.

Required Supplies:

The following supplies are available or can be ordered through Sewendipitous - please plan ahead to make sure you have the following supplies before the class. You can see a staff member or Lisa for any ordering needs.
Master Your Stripology Rulers book - each student must have their own copy as we’ll be using the resources in it throughout the day. (no exceptions)
This class requires that you already have at least one Stripology ruler. Minimally, you need the Stripology XL or Stripology Squared ruler. Having the Stripology Squared Mini or Stripology Quarters Mini ruler will be a bonus but not required. Please bring any and all the Stripology rulers that you have.
GEasy Ruler Stickers

Class Supplies:

¼” foot made for your sewing machine
Sewing Machine in good working condition (with the manual and accessories)
Pins
Spare Needles and bobbins (I like an 80/12 needle)
Small snipping scissors
Neutral Thread and full bobbin
Seam ripper
Rotary cutter and extra blade(s)
Cutting mat - 12x18” or larger, a single mat is preferable instead of a mat that is combined with a pressing surface. You’ll want plenty of cutting and trimming space.

Recommended:

Cleaning your machine on a regular basis (and before a class) helps it to work efficiently and helps you to avoid issues while in class. A new needle and a change of your rotary cutter blade also adds to your success with a new project.

Important Considerations:

All attendees are respectfully asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions/oils due to allergy and olfactory sensitivities of some students and instructors.
Additionally, must be 18 years or older to register unless otherwise approved by instructor in advance.

Classes and Events are Non-Refundable Without Exception Unless:
