Class Summary:
Brightly is made up of two different blocks. The stars are very forgiving and give the illusion of floating. It is a Layer Cake (10” squares) friendly pattern, or you can use yardage. You can make it patriotic, seasonal, or consider scrappy reds or scrappy blues! The choices are endless.
Skill Level:
Required to Register: Advanced Beginner (recommend having previously completed 1-2 quilts). Even a seasoned quilter will find this fun to make!

Supplies Required:
Brightly pattern (required)
6 ½” x 24 ½” ruler
Fabrics
Sewing machine, manual, foot pedal and cords
Neutral thread
Pins
Scissors
Rotary cutter and cutting mat
Pen/pencil
Best Press (recommended)
Iron and ironing surface (optional)
Sewing clips (optional)
Be sure you have the means to sew an accurate ¼ inch (0.25”) seam allowance. It is the key to accurate piecing.
Required Prep & Considerations Prior to Class:
Fabric Selection:
This is a Layer Cake (10” squares) pattern. Add yardage for background, and borders. Fabrics can be seasonal. I personally would avoid large scale prints. Please refer to your pattern for yardage needs, depending on the size of the quilt you want to make.
Cutting Instructions Prior to Class:
Please precut your fabrics prior to coming to class. I like to label and pin my fabrics together. Sewing clips are very handy. ORGANIZATION IS KEY TO THIS PROJECT! :) Please bring sticky notes to attach to pieces you cut, so you can quickly determine sizes of the pieces you will cut.
