Class Summary:
In this class, we will be making the Tiny Tulip by Chrissy Lux where we will learn zipper installation, zipper tabs for a neat finish, boxed corners and basic pouch construction.

Before Class Assignment:
Please cut out all fabric, lining and interfacing (I recommend fusible fleece for interfacing to give bag more body, that is what I used in the sample)

Class Supplies:
  • Tiny Tulip Pattern (available at SewEndipitous)
  • Exterior Fabric background fabric as per pattern
  • Tulip and stem/leaf fabrics of your choice per pattern scraps work well (note the pattern used only one fabric per tulip. I used multiple fabrics per tulip that blended well)
  • Zipper 14” –nylon coil zipper or longer
  • Fusible fleece or interfacing of your choice per pattern
  • Thread and bobbin matching or coordinating with your fabrics
  • Stitch ripper
  • Fabric scissors and all purpose scissors (to cut the zipper)
  • Sewing clips
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine needles  (extra in case of breakage)
  • Sewing machine in good working order, be sure you are familiar with your machine
  • Rotary cutter, mat – large if you have it,
  • Ruler approx. 6” x 18” or similar
  • Ruler 3 ½ x 3 ½  or similar with 45 degree line
  • Zipper foot, regular sewing foot
  • Marking tool of your choice suitable to mark your fabric.(you will want to have something that will show up on your fabric)
  • Fabric & Zipper Selection:  If you are new to sewing zippers, selecting a color that matches your fabric and using thread the same color will help hide irregularities. This is a great place to use your leftover fabrics from a project and have fun mixing and matching.
Recommended:
Cleaning your machine on a regular basis (and before a class) helps it to work efficiently and helps you to avoid issues while in class.
