Class Summary:

A beginner’s guide to create the beloved Bargello quilts. During this class you will be making a Bargello table runner. A Bargello quilt uses strips of fabric sewn together to create the illusion of movement. These patterns may look complicated, but even a new quilter can achieve the look. During class Donna will show you her quick and easy method while making a stunning Bargello table runner. If you can sew a straight seam, you can do this!

Techniques/Takeaways: Learn how create movement using fabric strips and color placement.

Required Supplies:

Sewing machine, manual, power cords and foot pedal
Extra machine needles
1/4-inch presser foot
Rotary cutter and extra blades
Cutting mat
Neutral thread and full bobbins
Seam ripper
Pressing mat
Portable iron
4-1/2 x 12-1/2 ruler (or similar)

Class Supplies:

Fabric Requirements: 9 different fabrics- 2 strips from each 2.5” X width of fabric for a total of 18 strips. Hint: For best results choose eight complementary fabrics in shades from dark to light and one contrasting color. Strips can be pulled from a Jelly Roll as long as there are 2 strips of 9 different designs.

PRE-WORK Before Class

Have your strips cut prior to class.

Recommended:

Cleaning your machine on a regular basis (and before a class) helps it to work efficiently and helps you to avoid issues while in class. A new needle and a change of your rotary cutter blade also adds to your success with a new project.

Important Considerations:

All attendees are respectfully asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions/oils due to allergy and olfactory sensitivities of some students and instructors.
Additionally, must be 18 years or older to register unless otherwise approved by instructor in advance.
Tardy/Late arrivals greater than 15 minutes from class start time will not be admitted and no refunds will be issued.

Classes and Events are Non-Refundable Without Exception Unless:

You are able to find another person to take your spot.
You cancel 30 days prior to the Class/Event.
The instructor cancels.
