Class Summary:
This is a technique class. You will learn the basics of bag making that you can apply to all your future bag/pouch adventures.
Class Description:
Want to make a purse/bag/pouch but feeling intimidated? This class is the perfect introduction to bag making. It is all about the TECHNIQUES. You will learn many of the basics of bag making while constructing an easy and useful project bag. We will talk about quilting with Soft and Stable, zipper installation, working with mesh, making and applying binding. In addition, there will be demonstrations on how to work with vinyl and sew boxed corners. (You will receive three additional patterns during class in addition to the one used for this class project.)

Easy machine quilting, zipper installation, making and installation of binding, tips for working with mesh, vinyl and sewn boxed corners.
Class Supplies:
Class Kit (purchase on class day)
Sewing machine in working order that you are familiar with
Zipper foot, ¼” foot
Denim weight needles (available in the shop)
1 EMPTY Bobbin
Sewing clips, pins, seam ripper and basic sewing supplies
Ruler to mark handles (suggested 18 X 6 ½ or similar)
Marking pen/pencil of your choice
Fabric scissors, and All-purpose scissors (to cut zipper)
Walking Foot
Rotary cutter

Cleaning your machine on a regular basis (and before a class) helps it to work efficiently and helps you to avoid issues while in class. A new needle and a change of your rotary cutter blade also adds to your success with a new project.
Important Considerations:
All attendees are respectfully asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions/oils due to allergy and olfactory sensitivities of some students and instructors.
Additionally, must be 18 years or older to register unless otherwise approved by the instructor in advance.
Tardy/Late arrivals greater than 15 minutes from class start time will not be admitted and no refunds will be issued.
Classes and Events are Non-Refundable Without Exception Unless:
You are able to find another person to take your spot.
You cancel 30 days prior to the Class/Event.
The instructor cancels.
