Fabric Selection:
This is a jelly roll friendly class. You will also need background fabric. When choosing your strips, make sure that you have contrast between the two different strips you will use in a block, as well as having contrast for the background. Fabrics can be seasonal. I personally would avoid large scale prints. Please refer to your pattern for yardage needs, depending on the size of the quilt you want to make.
Cutting Instructions Prior to Class:
Please precut your background fabric prior to coming to class. If you feel comfortable subcutting your strips , please do so. If you would rather wait until class to subcut, that is ok too! I find it easier to pin the pairs together or you can use the Sewing Clips if you have them. Make sure there is contrast between the 2 ½” strips in order to obtain the weaving visual. ORGANIZATION IS KEY TO THIS PROJECT! Please bring sticky notes to attach to pieces you cut, so you can quickly determine sizes of the pieces you will cut.
